Return to Play, What to Expect on the Day

28 Jun 2020 by Ronan J Dunne

We are all looking forward to our return to GAA training tomorrow evening, Monday 29th June.
See TeamApp Calendar for details.

We hope to welcome our GAA Academy’s return this Saturday, 4th July.
However, we cannot yet confirm this until later this week.

SAFETY IS EVERYBODY’s RESPONSIBILITY
Everybody has a responsibility in ensuring our Safe Return to Play.
We ask that everyone cooperate with club volunteers to ensure our Return To Play be as Safe and as Smooth as possible.

GAA LEARNING

The GAA have developed detailed guidelines to ensure the Safe Return To Play for all our members. Latest details can be found at GAA LEARNING, which is regularly updated.

MANDATORY – PRIOR TO RETURN
HEALTH QUESTIONAIRE
Return To Play – https://ReturnToPlay.GAA.ie
Parents / Guardians MUST register both themselves and their Child(ren), and answer a simple Heath Questionnaire.
Tutorial on completing Health Questionnaire is available on GAA LEARNING.

MANDATORY – PRIOR TO RETURN
GAA’s FREE COVID-19 EDUCATION eLEARNING MODULE
https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd/#/
Parents / Guardians MUST complete this eLearning Module and present their Completion Certificate to either their team’s COVID Supervisor or Coach / Mentor.
A screenshot will be sufficient.

TWELVE NOON CUT OFF
BOTH eLearning Completion Certificates AND ReturnToPlay.ie Registration and Health Questionnaire MUST be completed by 12NOON on Day of Training.
Failure to meet this deadline will result in either denied or delayed entry.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY
Everyone should ensure they observe social distancing guidelines outside the Pitch.
Please arrive in good time beforehand, and leave promptly afterwards.

We will be training outside on our Belgree Grass Training Pitch – infront of Tyrrelstown Community Centre, opposite Lidl. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
As Tyrrelstown Community Centre has yet to reopen, no toilet facilities will be available.

Entrance to the training Pitch will only be allowed through the gate at the back of the goal nearest the LIDL car park.

A COVID Supervisor will check that Parents / Guardians have completed BOTH the COVID eLearning Module and Health Questionnaire.

Using a hand held contact free thermometer, a COVID Supervisor will check body temperature.
If body temperature is not above 37.5C, you must then sanitise your hands before gaining entry to the training Pitch where a COVID Supervisor will record your attendance.

Children will proceed to their Team’s designated training area on the pitch. During training, contact is permitted between team-mates but will be minimised wherever practicable.
Children should come ready to play with all the appropriate equipment (e.g. gumshield for football, helmet and shin guards for Hurling) including their own labelled water bottle. Parents / Guardians should also consider providing their Child(ren) with their own hand sanitiser to enable them practice good hand hygiene during training (e.g. water breaks).

Parents / Guardians should proceed to designated viewing areas on the pitch, observing social distancing guidelines.

At the end of training, everyone is asked to leave the pitch promptly, observe social distancing whilst exiting and not linger outside.

Regards,

Jonny Ahearne,
Chairperson, Tyrrelstown GAA

Larry Mc Dermott,
GAA Games Promotion Officer
